My mom once said to me that she wished she had done the sort of work she had dreamed of, that she had become the pediatric nurse that she once planned on being, or had been able to stay in the Girl Scout office.  But she didn’t; she didn’t have the life of meaningful work and family.  And so her family would be her legacy.

On Monday, when I remembered this, I promised that I would work on being a better person, so I would be a worth piece of her legacy.
